Dear Micháel and family please accept my condolences for the sad loss of Fr James.He was always an amazing inspiration as well as a dear friend from our school days at St Mary’s. I well recall his grief at the tragic loss of his father. His bearing of that sorrow while continuing in his youth with us made a profound impression that remains with me today.JamesE or sometimes Seamus as we knew him was always a top scholar and first in the class but it never stopped him joining in with us and enjoying a good laugh as much as any of us who were his friends.I remember joining him at a concert in Maynooth when he was teaching there and also spending very happy times with him at the Presbytery in Culfitrim and Cushendun when home on holidays.He had a sharp wit and I often enjoyed the down to earth humour that he shared. His humility was always evident and often his powerful insights when we spoke of spiritual and theological experiences and ideas too.May time help you and all who mourn his passing but even more the certain knowledge of his everlasting joy now that he is finally with Our Lord and Saviour in whom he hoped and served so beautifully. And may we all be reunited in the same joy when every tear will be wiped away and pain shall be no more.
