Book of Condolences

Ronan, Peter, Jane and families. I am so sorry to hear of Leo's passing during this difficult time. I am Charles Henry's granddaughter from Illinois. I had the honor of meeting your dad in 2018 when I visited Northern Ireland. Chris Cunningham and Leo showed me all the important Cunningham sites. We even had tea with Chris's mom at the homestead, and I could see the rock where my grandfather slept on the night before he left for America. I treasure the time I spent with Leo. He shared family research I did not have, and I loved hearing the stories. My grandmother was a Rice from Castlewellan. Leo called around to find the homestead of my grandmother and get permission for us to visit there. Leo's kindness and generosity touched my heart.May memories of good times you spent with your father bring you comfort. Lynne Crabtree

Ronan, Peter and Jane and your families,I was SO very sorry to learn about Leo’s passing from our cousin, Lynne Crabtree. I was one of Leo’s Cunningham strays, the granddaughter of James Cunningham. He reached out to me after our cousin Ann Grace passed away. Father Joe Cunningham officiated at my brother’s wedding. We last emailed about 1.5 years ago while I was going thru cancer treatments. He always shared details of his families’ successes and his love for you was clear.Leo’s interest in our family and our stories brought us all closer, even though we were on different continents (I’m in Delaware in the US). He did what our ancestors didn’t do - he kept us “together”.I am just so sorry for your loss.KathyJoseph Farren
