John KEATING

Date of Death: Wednesday 23rd April 2025 Town: Larne

KEATING John Finbarr, Retired Radio Officer, Larne. Formerly of Brownstown Co. Kildare.

Died peacefully, after a short illness on 23rd April 2025 in the arms of his family at Antrim Hospital.

John, dearly loved husband of Christine, father of Fergus and Morag, father in law of Sionnadh, grandfather to Euan and Declan, loyal brother and friend. Deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and those who knew him.

He will come home on Sunday 27th April and friends will be welcome from 6.30pm on Sunday and from 4pm on Monday 28th April. His Funeral Mass will be at 12 noon on Tuesday 29th April at St MacNissi’s Church, Larne followed by burial in Larne Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired, to Cancer Focus.

The family wish to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Antrim Hospital and particularly ward A1 for their compassion and care.

He is remembered with great fondness as gentle with a wonderful twinkly eyed smile and wonderful Irish lilting voice. Much love to you all at this time from us all in Australia.

To Christine, Morag, Fergus and all John's extended family. Sad to hear of the passing of my dear Cousin John Finbarr. I have fond memories of him making his cousins feel welcome on our first grownup visit to Brownstown many years ago. So sorry, unable to travel to Larne for his Funeral Mass and to meet with you, His Loved Ones. Instead I will be with you in Spirit these days as you come to terms that his suffering is over.
