SWEENEY Jimmy, 1950-2025, suddenly but peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital surrounded by his loving family on 16th of July 2025. May he rest in peace. Late of 918 Glenshane Road, Carn, Dungiven, Co Derry, BT47 4SB.

Beloved husband of Margaret. Loving father of Maria Murray (John), Ursula Mullan (Harry) and Paul (Leon). Devoted grandfather of James, Liam, Eoghan, Joseph, Maranna, Brenda, Clare, Mary, Sarah, Senan, Eva and Esmae. Son of the late Patrick and Bridget Sweeney R.I.P of Templetuohy, Co. Tipperary and dear brother of Michael, John, Thomas, Bridget, Statia and the late Joseph R.I.P. Fond brother in law of Celine & Andy Rogers and Mary Decanniere. Very deeply regretted by the entire family circle.

Wake will commence on Thursday 17th July at 11am to 10pm and Friday 18th July 11am to 10pm.

Funeral will take place on Saturday 19th of July leaving his late home at 09.00am for 10am Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church Dungiven. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Requiem Mass can be viewed via the church webcam on the link below.
