It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis McDermott (née O’Kane) peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 4th August 2025. Late of 45 Brae Head Road, Nixon’s Corner. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late Hughie. Much loved mother of Martin, Ciaran and Darren. Dearly loved mother-in-law of Donna, Siobhan and Sharon. Loving granny of Sarah, Ronan, Caolan, Shay, Cathal, Megan and Patrick. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Phyllis’ remains will be reposing at her late home, 45 Brae Head Road, Nixon’s Corner from 6:30pm this evening, Monday 4th August.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday 6th August at 9:15am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower.

Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
