It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Armitage (née Rigney) at her late home, after a long illness bravely borne on 6th August 2025. Late of 19 Buncrana Road. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late Max. Much loved sister of Eamon, Daniel, Deirdre, Liam, Michael, Bridgeen, Patrick and the late Edward, Siobhan and Maura. A loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Cherished daughter of the late Edward and Philomena Rigney. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Kathleen’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 19 Buncrana Road from 12:30pm tomorrow afternoon, Thursday 7th August. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday 9th August at 9:20am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
