HUGHES Gertrude, (Newry) August 19, 2025, (peacefully) at Craigavon Area Hospital. Gertrude, beloved wife of John, devoted mother of Mary, cherished mother-in-law to Sean, treasured nanny to Leah and Megan, loving daughter late John and Mary R.I.P (formerly of Lower Water Street) and dear sister of Anne, Mary and the late Danny, Ellen, Alice, Bernie, Hugh, Jimmy and Pat R.I.P.

Her remains will repose at her late residence, 27 The Glen, Newry, today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) from 2pm until 9pm. Requiem Mass for Gertie will be celebrated on Friday at 12noon in The Church of the Assumption, Drumalane, burial afterwards in St. Mary’s cemetery. House private on morning of Funeral. Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and the entire family circle.
