Paul McNELIS

Date of Death: Monday 3rd November 2025 Town: Beragh

We, the family of the late Paul, are deeply grateful to all those who offered their condolences, prayers, comfort and support during our recent heart-breaking bereavement. Thank you to everyone who called to our home, to those who sent mass and sympathy cards, messages, online tributes, flowers and donations in lieu of flowers, and to those who provided a Guard of Honour for Paul, including Roscavey Primary School, St Ciaran’s College, Beragh Red Knights and all who lined the funeral route. Thank you to all who attended the funeral, especially to those who travelled from near and far to be with us during our most difficult time. For the continuing love and support shown to us, we are truly grateful.

Our thanks to those who brought food, to everyone who helped serve tea and worked tirelessly during the wake. To everyone who assisted with car parking, to Beragh Red Knights for the use of their facilities, to KieranTaggart Buses and PD Coaches for transporting people to and from the wake, we are very grateful.

Thank you to the Ambulance Service and PSNI for their prompt response, and for the dignified care and compassion they showed to Paul.

A special word of heartfelt thanks to Beragh First Responders and members of the community who were with Paul and who tended to him with love, care, compassion and dignity. This level of care and compassion was also extended to us as a family at the most difficult and heart-breaking time. Our family is truly grateful to you all, and for this, you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

A special note of gratitude to Fr Sean McCartan for the comforting spiritual guidance he gave to us all during this difficult time and for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass. We extend our gratitude to Sylvia the Sacristan, readers and Eucharistic ministers for their duties. Special thanks to Donna and Rory for the beautiful music and bringing us so much comfort on a difficult day.

Special thanks to Fergal and Paddy from Farley’s Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. To Ciaran for preparing Paul’s final resting place with such love and care. Our thanks to Sheenagh of Bumblebee Flowers for the beautiful floral tributes and to Altamuskin hall and Farley’s bar for the welcoming refreshments after the burial.

Finally, we are particularly thankful to our special family, loving friends, caring neighbours and wonderful community whose unwavering support and acts of kindness have been invaluable during this heartbreaking time. You all have wrapped us in your care and love, allowing us to grieve and remember Paul, while you are all missing him too.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as gesture of our sincere gratitude and appreciation.

Paul’s memory will live on forever; he will be loved and missed every day. We pray that his kind, loving and gentle soul finds peace and eternal rest.

Paul’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Beragh on Sunday 7th December at 11.30am.

Our Lady Queen of Peace, Pray for him.
