Family Acknowledgement

We, the family of Anne, would like to express our profound thanks and gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us on the recent death of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in law, sister-in-law, auntie and niece, Anne.

We would like to give a very special thanks to our family circle, close friends and wonderful neighbours for their love, kindness and support shown to Anne and family during her short illness and in her final days. A sincere thank you to those who attended the house, provided food, made generous donations to Marie Curie and Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund, and sent messages, cards and flowers. A huge and heartfelt thanks to those who helped and supported during the wake and funeral, including providing refreshments and co-ordinating parking. Thanks to Martin McCaffrey and Darren O’Gara (Raymond Mallaghan) for providing buses, to Philip Morris for the use of his ground for parking, and to Kevin and Ciaran at KC Marquees for their services. Special thanks to all the local businesses for their generosity.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zahid Bahli (Altnagelvin Hospital) and Dr. Jane McClements (City Hospital) and their teams, the district nursing team, the Foyle Hospice palliative care team and staff in the North West Cancer Centre for their outstanding dedication and care for Anne and family throughout her illness. The care, compassion and kindness provided by the dedicated nursing staff from Marie Curie, and in particular Anna, Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund, Care for Cancer Omagh and Macmillan is so very much appreciated.

Thank you to the staff at Carrickmore Health Centre, and to Fiona and the staff at Hartes Chemist, Carrickmore for their invaluable help and support throughout Anne’s illness.

A massive thank you to our Parish Priest Fr. Peter McAnenly for his spiritual guidance, unwavering support and enabling Anne and her family to make precious memories in the last few days of her earthly life. Thank you to Fr. John Fox and Fr. James Devine for their support and guidance throughout Anne’s illness. Thanks to both Fr. Fox and Fr. McAnenly for the very touching funeral mass.

Many thanks to the readers, eucharistic ministers, sacristans and all those who participated in Anne’s funeral mass. A heartfelt thanks to Jackie Loughran and Eamonn Donnelly who provided the beautiful music during the funeral mass. Thanks also to Ciarán Conroy for preparing her final resting place.

Many thanks to Kelley and all the staff at The Charm Inn for providing refreshments after the funeral.

Finally, a gracious thank you to Michael, Seamus and Leo at McGuigan Funeral Directors Gortin for the very dignified and professional manner in which Anne’s wishes were carried out.

As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere and utmost gratitude to everyone for their support over the past few weeks and months.

Anne’s Month’s Mind Mass will take place in St. Oliver Plunketts Church, Creggan on Tuesday, 9th December at 7.30pm.

Funeral Notice

GROGAN (née Donaghy) Anne (Creggan), peacefully at home surrounded by her loving and heartbroken family November 8th 2025 R.I.P. Beloved wife of Eugene. Cherished mother to Máire (Steve), Ciará (Michael), Rónán (Rachael) and Ciarán. Adored by her grandchildren Cassie and Nainsí. Much loved sister to John, Celestine and Martin and a dearly loved sister-in-law to Bernie and Patricia. Cherished niece of Matt Quinn. Daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Donaghy RIP.

Anne’s remains will repose at her late residence, 380 Crockanboy Road BT79 9AF for a wake on Sunday November 9th from 10am-10pm. Funeral from there on Monday November 10th at 12.30pm going to St Oliver Plunkett’s Church Creggan for 1pm Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Very deeply regretted by her loving husband, daughters, sons, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, the extended Grogan and Donaghy families and her neighbours and many friends. Our Lady pray for her.

Family flowers please. Donations in lieu if so desired to Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund or Marie Curie c/o the family.

Family time only please from 10pm and on the morning of the funeral.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to limited parking at the family home everyone are asked to park at Philip Morris funeral Directors, 391 Crockanboy Road where a shuttle bus will be in operation to and from the wakehouse.
