NIJNTJES Eric, peacefully at Cornfield Care Centre on 1st February 2026.

Late of 37 Glengalliagh Park and formerly of Zaandam, The Netherlands. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Yvonne. Devoted father of Seán, Michaela, Eva and Noel. Dearest father-in-law of Muammer. Loving Opa of Charley, Tiernan, Cathaoir, Oisin, Fiann, Brogan, Ava, Mehmet, Medb and Keyan. A much loved brother to all of his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends both here in Ireland and The Netherlands.

Eric’s remains are now reposing at his late family home, 37 Glengalliagh Park. Funeral leaving from there tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd February at 10:20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh. Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery.
