It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Margie McSherry (née Strain), February 19 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital after a short illness, beloved wife of the late Tony, loving mother of Tony, Lisa and Chris, cherished mother-in-law of Emily, devoted grandmother of Ciara, Sarah, Louise, Gary and Orlaigh, great-grandmother of Dean, Clara, Maela, Aalayah, Ronan, Conall and Daibhin, much loved partner of Tony Smith and dear sister of Tony, Tim and the late John.

Margie will be reposing in her home, 38 Foyle Road. Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.45am for 11.30am Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 11.00pm to 11.00am. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her. St Teresa intercede for her.
