I would just like to send my heartfelt sympathy to Joanne's family. I started working with Joanne when I started as a junior doctor in Opthalmology in 2010. I arrived in the busy eye casualty department feeling very clueless and Joanne's warm smile and willingness to help always brightened my day. She was always willing to help with the day to day work as well as the extra various projects we needed to do as part of our Opthalmology training. She encouraged us and helped us and brightened our days. Even when I bumped into her in the years that followed, she greeted me with a cheery hello and I always felt she was genuinely interested in my life. I always loved hearing how Johanna was getting on and she always talked so fondly of her. I was so sad to hear of her passing away, I am remembering her family in prayer at this time and hope that Jesus' death and resurrection brings you hope.
