Patrick (Patsy) CANAVAN

Date of Death: Saturday 23rd May 2026 Town: Pomeroy

We, the family of the late Patsy Canavan, wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all our family friends and great neighbours who sympathised, prayed for and supported us during our recent sad bereavement.

To those who attended the wake and funeral, travelled long distances to be with us, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, messages and flowers or kindly brought food, made tea and helped in any way we thank you. Your support has meant more than we can say.

We are sincerely grateful to Fr. David Moore for his faithful monthly visits to daddy, for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass, and for his comforting words during a difficult time which are much appreciated.

We thank Monsignor Barney McAleer for receiving our daddy’s remains in our family home and for his kind words of comfort and song on the morning of daddy’s funeral.

To Patrick the Sacristan, and a special word of thanks to Kate McAleer, Funeral Director, and her staff for the compassionate and professional way she carried out the funeral arrangements. From the beginning your guidance, reassurance and attention to detail brought us great comfort. Sincere thanks to the grave digger who prepared daddy’s final resting place.

A special thank you to Corkhill Care Home and your staff for caring for daddy in his final weeks. To the doctors and nurses of Ardmore Medical Centre, Damian and the staff of McAleer Medical Hall for your care and support of daddy over the years. We also thank all the many carers who looked after daddy at home.

To Jackie Fox and Eamon Donnelly Music, who provided the beautiful music for Daddys funeral. Music meant so much to daddy and brought him great joy throughout his life.
Your beautiful singing and music were a truly fitting tribute.

To Maria Corrigan and her staff for the beautiful meal provided after the funeral and to the Hub for the use of their facilities. Your kindness and hospitality meant so much to us.

A special word of thanks to Kevin and Ciaran Mc Elvogue of KC Marquees for providing the marquee and to everyone who helped with parking throughout the wake and funeral, your time and support did not go unnoticed. We thank you most sincerely.

As it would be impossible to express our appreciation individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deepest gratitude.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Daddys Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 19* June 7.30pm in the Church of the Assumption Pomeroy.
