We, the family of the late Rachael Sands R.I.P. would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with us on our recent sad and sudden bereavement. To all those who called at the house, sent Mass Offerings, flowers, sympathy cards, donated to Rachael’s favourite charity: Cancer Fund for Children, posted messages on Facebook or attended her funeral, we were overwhelmed by the high esteem in which Rachael was held.

We thank especially all the medical staff involved in Rachael’s journey in life. Our thanks go to Fr Naughton for conducting such a personal tribute to Rachael in the beautiful Requiem Mass, Fr Robert Markuszewski who administered Last Rites, Kathleen Moore, soloist and Doreen Finnegan, organist for the beautiful music in the Requiem Mass and Katie Sands, Rachael’s cousin, for her beautiful rendition of “The Star of the County Down” at Rachael’s graveside and the guard of honour from Rachael’s friends at Avon. Thank you to Flagstaff Lodge for all that you did for us. Thank you to McGennity’s Funeral Directors for the caring, dignified and professional manner in carrying out the funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this is accepted as a token of our appreciation.

Rachael’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Cloughoge on Saturday 30th October at 6.30pm.
