Date of Death: Friday 24th December 2021

First Anniversary

Precious memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who died on the 24th December 2021.

Quietly remembered every day,
no longer in our life to share,
but in our hearts you’re always there.

We speak your name with love and pride,
we smile through tears we try to hide.
Of all the gifts in life however great or small,
to have you as a father was the greatest gift of all.

Always loved and sadly missed by his wife Jean, sons Paul and Noel, daughter Kathy, daughters-in-law Marie and Geraldine, son-in-law Don, sisters Olive and Marie and entire family circle.

George’s first Anniversary Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 21st December at 7.30pm in St Colmcille’s Church, Carrickmore. Mass can also be viewed on the Church webcam

A truly heartfelt word of thanks and appreciation to Adelaide Strain and Emma Mitchell and their District nursing team for the compassionate and professional manner in which you cared for George and the support you gave to us will never be forgotten. Thanks to the Marie Curie Nurses for the exceptional care and compassion shown towards George in his final days. This support and care helped us to care for George in his own home.

Special thanks to George’s carers for the excellent care, support and compassion given to George during his illness. We would not have managed without your help. A special mention to Deidre and Helen we value your continued support and friendship.

Special appreciation to Fr Sean O’Neill P.P. for his spiritual support and pastoral care, for his daily visits and prayers during George’s illness and wake which gave us strength during this sad and difficult time. Thanks for the beautiful requiem mass and the fitting tribute paid to George. Your words were of great comfort to our family. Thanks to Jimmy Fox and staff of the Old Charm Inn for the beautiful meal, and to Seamus Russell for his help before and after the wake.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually who has been so supportive since George became unwell and since his passing, we trust that our acknowledgement will express our sincere appreciation and everlasting gratitude to all of you.
