SLOAN Barney – (Drummanmore, Kilkeel) October 5, 2023, peacefully in Daisy Hill Hospital surrounded by his family.

Barney, beloved son of the late Tom and Minnie Sloan, and loving brother of Phillip and the late Peter R.I.P.

Barney’s remains will leave his late residence, 31 Drummanmore Road, at 10.20am on tomorrow Saturday (7th) for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St Colman’s Church, Massforth. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his loving brother, sister-in-law Patsy, nephews, nieces and entire family circle. Our Lady of Lourdes pray for him.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to The Southern Area Hospice c/o any family member.

Our family in the US is saddened to hear of Barney’s passing. He was such a friend and relative to our late dad, Jim Sloan. I remember visiting Kilkeel as a kid and later on as an adult and visiting with Barney was always such a joy . We also fondly remember Barney’s trip to the U.S. We are so thankful that Barney welcomed us all when we visited Kilkeel. We will miss him, his stories and especially his stories about his Collies named Joe. God Bless Barney.
