Bill was my esteemed colleague at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the early 1980s. As well as being an outstanding microwave engineer, he was a great mentor to me as a brash new PhD. He made pioneering contributions to the then emerging monolithic microwave integrated circuit technology. But Bill's interests ranged well beyond engineering. He was a connoisseur of the finer things in life and we enjoyed discussing the ups and downs of the gourmet restaurants in Boston and beyond. He looked forward to every trip back home to Ireland and was very happy to be able to retire there. A wonderful man. My condolences to Noreen and to all Bill's family and friends. Alwyn Seeds
