Anne RAFFERTY

Date of Death: Monday 21st July 2025 Town: Enniskillen
Date of Death: Monday 21st July 2025

The family of the late Anne Rafferty and her dear friend Damian wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all those who offered sympathy during our recent bereavement.

Our heartfelt thanks to all those that supported Anne at home especially her GPs, Erne Pharmacy, Enablement Team and the District Nursing Team, especially over the last few months. To Anne’s wonderful neighbours of Loughview for always looking out for her.

We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated medical teams who cared for Anne, to Dr. Damien and the oncology team in the Northwest Cancer Centre. To the NIAS, SWAH A+E and staff of Ward 1 and 6 for their dedication, comfort and care to Anne in her final weeks. A special acknowledgment to the palliative care team for not only their support and care of Anne but also our family.

To all Anne’s work colleagues and friends in the SWAH/ Erne hospital, your presence provided great support and comfort to Anne, Damian and the family during those final heart-breaking weeks by sharing your comforting words and treasured memories. Also, for your fitting guard of honour as Anne’s remains left the hospital, this was a very poignant final mark of respect to Anne.

To everyone who attended Anne’s wake in Enniskillen and Pomeroy, those that attended the funeral, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, phoned, sent texts or social media messages, sent floral tributes, provided food and assisted in any way at the wake your kindness will not be forgotten.

Thanks to KC marquees, to JJ Gill for the beautiful mass booklets and to Pomeroy Community Hub for the use of their equipment and the hall. To Maria Corrigan and her team for providing refreshments after the burial in the hub.

We wish to thank Sr. Rosa, Monsignor O’Reilly and Fr. Darcy for their attendance to Anne’s spiritual needs in the hospital, also Fr. Darcy for his kind attendance at her wake. To Fr. Leo Traynor for his spiritual support and friendship to Anne throughout the years.

To Monsignor McAleer, we wish to thank you most sincerely for your guidance, prayers and fitting words at Anne’s wake in both Enniskillen and Pomeroy.

To Fr. Moore for celebrating Anne’s beautiful requiem mass, your homily was a fitting tribute to Anne’s life, and to Fr. Mc Callion for your presence at the funeral.

Thanks to Dervla Kelly for the most beautiful singing and music which you provided. To Paul Ralph and Philomena Begley for your powerful rendition of “How Old Friends Do “a lovely tribute to Anne.

We would like to sincerely thank all the family and friends that played a special role in the requiem mass.

Finally we wish to sincerely thank Kate McAleer, funeral director for guiding us through all aspects of the funeral arrangements, and to John Donaghy and Simon Marshall for the dignified manner in which the arrangement were carried out.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually we trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our deep appreciation and thanks.

Anne’s months mind mass will be celebrated on Thursday 21st August at 7:3-pm in The Church of the Assumption, Pomeroy.
