CANNING Seán (Chico), 22nd January 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, with his loving partner Irene at his side, SEÁN (Chico), beloved partner of Irene Thompson, loving father of Gary and the late Damien, Seán, Caolán, Caoimhe, Caoimhín, Ruairí and Emmet, a devoted granda to all his grandchildren, cherished son of Josephine and the late Seán, dear and loving brother of Declán, Una, Ciaran, Conor and Fergal, and a caring brother-in-law and uncle. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle.

Chico will be reposing at his home, 10 Ballymore Park, on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th January from 10:00am to 10:00pm.

Car parking available at Seán Dolans GAA.

Funeral leaving his home on Sunday 25th January at 12:30pm to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 1:15pm. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.
