We the family of the late Gerry wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their Condolences, Prayers and Support during our recent sad bereavement. Gerry was widely respected and loved by all who knew him, beloved husband of Claire treasured Father of Geraldine (Mark) Gerard (Fiona) Michelle (Brendan) Conor, Barry (Pamela) and Emmet. A dearly loved brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Thank you to everyone who called at the wake especially those who helped with organising, providing refreshments and those who helped with parking. Our thanks to those who sent Mass/ Sympathy cards and expressed their condolences online. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route to the church and those who joined us for the beautiful requiem mass in St. Oliver Plunkett’s church Creggan, Carrickmore. A special word of thanks to Father Peter Mc Anenly P.P. for his spiritual guidance and support throughout Gerry’s illness. Thank you for the beautiful requiem mass and to everyone who took part in the liturgy, especially Jackie Loughran and Eamon Donnelly who provided beautiful and reverent music which added so much to the funeral service. Thank you to FMC Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. To Stephen Mallon for the beautiful floral tributes, to Aidan O’Gara for providing the marquee, chairs and heaters and to Kieran Conroy gravedigger for preparing Gerry’s final resting place. Thank you to the Old Charm Inn and all the staff for providing the lovely food and refreshments after the funeral. Finally we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health professionals Gerry has met over the years especially Cookstown family practice Loy building’s, the district nurses who cared for Gerry with the utmost dignity and respect throughout his illness, especially during his final days. Thank you to Marie Curie and palliative care for your amazing support and acts of kindness and this will not be forgotten. Thank you to Damian Gormley the pharmacist, and staff at McAleer’s Pharmacy Pomeroy. To Jacqueline Maguire and team who were a blessing to Gerry, Claire and the family for all the amazing care you gave to Gerry in his final few weeks.
We will never forget the support and help which you all gave to us, for your dedication and care of Gerry we truly Thank you. As it would be impossible to Thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude to all those who supported us and helped in any way during the wake and funeral. May Gerry’s gentle soul rest in peace.
Gerry’s Month Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Creggan, Carrickmore on Thursday 9th April at 7.30pm.

Beloved Son of the late Joe and Maggie (RIP) Loving Husband of Claire (Beggs). Much loved father of Geraldine (Mark), Gerard (Fiona), Michelle (Brendan), Barry (Pamela), Conor and Emmet.
Cherished grandfather of Rosemary, Odhran, Gavin, Bree, Thomas, Ryan, Eimear, Eimile, Isabel, Lucy, and great grandfather of Lana.
Gerry’s remains will repose at his late residence, 188 Camlough Rd, with wake from 2pm on Friday 6th March 2026, until removal on Sunday 8th at 12.30pm to St. Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Creggan for 1pm requiem mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Shuttle bus from Evishtrask school and McAleer’s quarry.
Close friends and family only on morning of funeral please.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his Sorrowing wife, loving sons, daughters, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces and wide family Circle. Sweet Heart of Jesus have mercy on his Soul.
