It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Eamon Helferty, peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on 30th December 2025.

Late of Kilderry Lane, Muff and formerly of 38 Malin Gardens, Derry. May he rest in peace.

Beloved husband of Geraldine. Devoted father of Damien and Steven. Dearest father-in-law of Jenny and Charlotte. Loving granda of Ethan and step-granda of Mark, Emma, Bridget, Scarlett and Addison. A much loved brother of Kevin, Philomena, Margery, Rosaleen, Liam, Joe and John. A dear brother-in-law of Gerald, Martin, Bridie, Maureen and Gail. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends both in Ireland and New Zealand.

Eamon’s remains will be reposing at his late home, Kilderry Lane, Muff, Donegal, F93 N1K6 from 1pm tomorrow afternoon, Thursday 1st January. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday 3rd January at 9:15am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.

The wake house will be private from 10pm until 11am.
