HIGNEY (née McPhillips) Mary passed away peacefully February 27, 2026 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late John, much loved mother of Frankie and Christine. Beloved grandmother of Tom and Johnny and great grandmother of Tristan. She will be greatly missed by her brother Jack, her son-in-law and friend Ernie, and her wider family circle.

Mary is reposing at O’Kanes Funeral Home, 116-118 Donegall Street, Belfast BT1 2GX. Those wishing to pay their respects are welcome to call between 9.00am-8.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Anthony’s Church, 3 Willowfield Crescent, Belfast BT6 8HP on Thursday March 5th at 9.30am. Burial afterwards at Roselawn Cemetery. St Anthony pray for her.
