Date of Death: Tuesday 9th September 2025 Town: Mountfield

Family Acknowledgment and Months Mind Mass details:
We, the family of the late Hughie Gallagher would like to sincerely thank everyone who sympathised with, prayed for and supported us through our recent and sudden bereavement. We are deeply grateful to all who attended the wake, funeral, sent messages, mass cards, sympathy cards and flowers and made donations to Termonmaguirc Cancer Care. Sincere thanks to our friends and good neighbours who helped at the wake, provided food, directed traffic and to those who provided transport, lighting and marquee facilities. A special word of thanks to Loughmacrory Ladies Football team and management who assisted our family through this difficult time. We are most grateful to Mountfield Community Association for the use of the centre and providing refreshments for those using the shuttle bus service during the wake. A special word of thanks to Fr Peter McAnenly for his spiritual support and guidance and for celebrating a beautiful requiem mass with a touching homily. We also thank Fr O’Dwyer and Fr McCrory for their pastoral support. We extend our gratitude to those who participated in the funeral mass with particular thanks to Colleen Conway and Eamon Donnelly for the beautiful music and singing and Mary Conway for sacristan duties. We extend our gratitude to John Donaghy, undertaker, for his care, professionalism and dignified manner throughout this difficult time. We thank Ciaran Conroy for preparing Hughie’s final resting place and Kelly Fox and the Charm Inn staff for providing refreshments after the funeral. We extend our appreciation to Loughmacrory GFC for the use of the clubrooms, stewarding and poignant guard of honour at the funeral. A very special word of thanks to the emergency services who attended to Hughie and provided support and guidance in the difficult hours following his death.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our gratitude and sincere appreciation.

Hughie’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Marys Church, Loughmacrory, on Saturday 11th October at 10am.
