We the family of the late John Simpson wish to express our most sincere gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us during our recent family bereavement. To everyone who called to the house, helped out during the wake, sent Mass and Sympathy cards, letters, emails and messages of condolences. Thank you to everyone who attended the Requiem Mass.
We wish to express our thanks to all of the staff in Daisy Hill hospital who provided excellent care during the short period of time daddy was an inpatient.
Thank you to Kate McAleer Funeral Services for the dignified care and attention given to everyone during the funeral arrangements, and to the grave digger Sean Rafferty and to CK Marquees for the timely arrangements of the marquee
To Father David Moore a most sincere thank you for your spiritual support and for the beautiful Requiem Mass. Thank you to Dervla Kelly for the angelic singing and to Maria Corrigan for the service of food following the funeral.
While it is almost impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. John’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Monday 3rd November at 7.30pm in the Church of The Assumption Pomeroy.
SIMPSON (Bessbrook, Newry/Pomeroy) September 25, 2025, peacefully in Daisy Hill Hospital surrounded by his loving daughters, John, husband of the late Mary (née Gormley), devoted father to Mairead, Isobel, Elaine and Denise. Doting grandfather to Natalie, Garret, Matthew, Sian, Darragh, Joshua, Morgan and the late Aaron and great grandfather to Robyn. Much loved brother to Ellen and the late May, Ena, Philomena and Tabo R.I.P., and uncle to Isobel, Sean (O’Connor), Martina, Geraldine and Sean (Simpson) and the late Seamus and Eilish R.I.P. Adored by his partner Marcella (Gleeson) and her family, Ann, John, Vangleen and the late Donal R.I.P., her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John is reposing at his family home, 15 Keragh BT70 2QZ, and all are welcome to pay their respects between 12noon and 10.00pm today, Friday and tomorrow Saturday.
Funeral from there on Sunday for 1.00pm Requiem Mass in the Church of the Assumption, Pomeroy, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply loved and missed by his sorrowing daughters, grandchildren, great grandchild, partner and her family, nieces, nephews, entire family circle, neighbours and friends.
