ROONEY John (Dessie) 31st January 2026 peacefully at Letterkenny University hospital.

Beloved husband of Eilish. Loving father of John, Meletia, Eamon, Michelle, Kayrena and the late Kevin. Much loved grandfather and great grandfather. Beloved son of the late Martin and Madge (formally of Pennyburn, Derry). Brother of Maureen, Ann, Madeline, Irene, Dermotte, Martin and the late Marjorie and Eamon.

Dessie’s remains will arrive at Muff Border at 11am tomorrow (Sunday). Dessie will then be reposing at his family home, 4 Green bank cottages F93 V6PO, Quigley’s point (Formally Tullagh) from 11.30am. Funeral from there on Tuesday at 10am to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by all his family and everyone that knew him.
