Anthony (Tony) Bannon
July 27th 2020, peacefully at home after a long and bravely fought illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Angeleen, father of Anthony, David & Peter, cherished father-in-law of Christine, doting grandfather of Clara and Alana, devoted son of Kathleen and the late Edward, dear brother of Louise, Edward, Peter, Michael, Stephen, Chris and Jim.
Reposing at his home (688 Shore Road, Jordanstown) until 12.45pm on Wednesday 29th July followed by Requiem Mass at 1.15pm in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Whitehouse and burial afterwards at 3pm in Carnmoney Cemetery. (Live webcam coverage of the funeral on https://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/church-of-st-mary-star-of-the-sea-newtownabbey).
Regrettably, due to the current COVID 19 regulations, the house will be private and restricted numbers will sadly only allow family to attend the funeral service inside the church.
However everyone is welcome to pay their respects, either at Tony’s removal from his residence, outside the church, or on arrival at the cemetery, whilst maintaining social distancing. It is hoped to have a speaker system in operation.
Tony will be so sorely missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter-in-law, grand-daughters, mother, sister, brothers and his large circle of family and friends.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to NI Hospice.
Sacred heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
