I, Jeanette and the family of the late Brian Begley would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the many expressions of sympathy and kindness following the loss of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

We are deeply grateful to friends, work colleagues and well wishers who attended the wake and funeral. To those who sent mass cards and sympathy cards.

To those who travelled long distances to be with us at this time and those who sent donations in lieu of flowers to the Foyle Hospice.

To the neighbours of Brookdale Crescent and to those who provided food and refreshments we will be forever grateful.

We would like to thank Fr. Sean O’Donnell for the beautiful funeral mass and to Erin and Isobel for the lovely music.

To everyone who looked after Brian during his illness especially Dr. Eddie Devlin at Quayside Medical Practice. Dr Rachael Coulter Foyle Hospice to Caroline McIvor and Lucy from Homecare team and to all the staff of the day unit for the companion shown to Brian. We would like to say a very special thank you to Amy Logan District nurse.

To Kieran Connor, Peter Leonard and staff of McClaffertys Funeral Directors for your help and guidance during this difficult time and carrying out the funeral arrangements with the utmost respect and dignity.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our family’s gratitude.

Brian’s month mind mass will take place on Friday 3rd March at 6.30pm in St Joseph’s Church, Galliagh.

BEGLEY Brian – (peacefully) at his home, surrounded by all of his loving family on 4th February 2023, late of 8 Brookdale Crescent.

Beloved husband of Jeanette. Devoted father of Damien, Stephen, Catriona and Colm. A much loved uncle of Kate. Loving granda of Hannah, Lorcan, Ben, Meabh, Paige, Aoife and Zack. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Brian’s remains will be reposing at his late home, 8 Brookdale Crescent. Funeral leaving from there on Monday 6th February at 10.20am for 11.00am requiem mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the Foyle Hospice c/o the immediate family or Mr. Kieran Connor, McClafferty Funeral Directors, Unit 3a, Rathmor Business Park, Derry, BT48 0LZ. To Know His Was To Love Him.
