Claire BRESNAHAN

The family of Claire Bresnahan, following her recent passing, take this opportunity to thank all who called to our home across Claire’s wake. We are grateful to the friends and family members who prepared the house, to Aidan O’Gara for the marquee, to the people who brought food and to all the hands who helped make and serve same.
We thank all who attended Claire’s Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart, Omagh, and who joined us afterwards as Claire was laid down among the beautiful surrounds at Drumragh Cemetery. It was a massive testament by the people of our town to the amazing woman that was Claire.
Thanks, too, to those who brought flowers, who watched via webcam and to those who sent cards in sympathy.
Especial thanks to Charlie Lynch, Funeral Director, for his exceptional services while assisting our family through this most difficult time, and also to Father Peter O’Kane and Father Damian Bresnahan, with his SMA colleagues, for the incredible support offered ourselves and for the dignified send-off given Claire.
Thanks to James McShane, with Joan McCrystal, for the beautiful music at Claire’s Funeral Mass and to the Sacristan, Declan, for preparing the Church. Thanks to Alison and her colleagues at Caife 32 for the wonderful Funeral Lunch and to Ciarán and to Omagh St. Enda’s for use of the hall at Healy Park. A word of thanks also to Ciaran Maguire of Maguire Memorials for preparing Claire’s beautiful resting place.
For those who read and brought gifts during the Mass, we say thanks. And to those at Manchester United Supporters’ Club, Omagh, to Omagh St. Enda’s CLG and to Loreto Grammar School, Omagh, we say a huge ‘go raibh míle’ for the Guard of Honour afforded Claire on her final time leaving the Sacred Heart Church.
We acknowledge, in gratitude, the many nurses, doctors and hospital staff who tended to Claire across a lifetime of struggle with illness. It was never lost on Claire, what was done by those who helped make life a thing to be enjoyed, not just overcome.
Though Claire’s earthly body may be gone, her Angelic Soul has begun life anew in that Highest Heaven reserved for the Elect. There is comfort in knowing you are there, at Peace. For us, who remain, your shining spirit, humility and grace stand as example on the path still to come.
Claire’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at half past 12 on Sunday 12th April at the Sacred Heart Church, Omagh. We would surely be pleased to meet you there. Immaculate Mary, Queen of the Gael, pray for her Soul; St. Padre Pio, Intercessor for the Suffering, welcome her Home.
