CANNING Derek, 10th March 2026, peacefully, at Altnagelvin Hospital, after a long illness, formerly of Carnhill. Beloved husband of Genevieve, loving father of Peter, Carol and the late Deborah, dear father-in-law to Raymond and Bredge, devoted grandfather of Ann-Marie, Caroline, Keely and Adam and great-grandfather of Cory, Lauren, Eva and Mason, dear son of the late Earnest and Jean, cherished brother of the late Dorothy and Victor and a loving uncle to all his nephews and nieces. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Derek will be reposing at his home 22 Elmgrove on Wednesday 11th March from 7:00 p.m.

Funeral leaving his home on Friday 13th March at 9:20 a.m. to St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn for Requiem Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.
