Unfortunately we never saw each other as often as we should, or we both may have liked, but life can sometimes deal us hands that too often are on a different table than the one we originally sat down at, I can certainly attest to that, but as much as our lives ebb and flow in different directions, our love for those we originally sat down with never diminishes, never is forgotten, it continues to grow and mature as we grow older and mature, like a fine wine, or so my parents and siblings assure me. That being said, every single time our paths crossed it was like I had saw you yesterday. You always had a kind word, and a smile that didn't always reflect how you might have been feeling inside but that was your gift that I will always remember, your ability to light up a room or a conversation with your huge smile, not to mention your huge heart (and hugs, even when I was too large to get your arms around). Your love for your family knew no bounds, I'm sure there'll be bucket loads said of that, there are certainly those better positioned than I to lay testament to that, but the love and pride that oozed out of you for my mother will never be forgotten. For that reason alone, although there are many others, you will always remain in my heart and mind. One thing I'm certain of, when we meet again it will not be the pearly gates that will dazzle my eyes, it will be your smile, surrounded by those that you loved that went before. Maybe small in stature but a giant in my eyes!!!! I know it is customary to add something religious at this point but I'll add the slightly amended lyrics to a song: You decorated our lives!!! Age will no longer weary thee...... Love you Uncle George. Xx
