Acknowledgement from the family of the late Mattie Cromie – R.I.P.
The family of the late Mattie Cromie would like to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to all who sympathised with us over the loss of our dear father.
We would like to thank the Trust Home Care staff and their wonderful Carers who attended Mattie every day, ensuring comfort and unwavering love and support to the family.
We thank all those involved in his health care – The doctors, the Marie Curie Nurses, the wonderful district nurses and day and night carers who attended Dad’s needs with professionalism and dignity.
Thank you to our local priest and friend Father Naughton who made regular visits to Dad over the years, providing spiritual guidance, support and comfort, especially towards the end of his days. Thank you also for a beautiful requiem mass.
To Dad’s precious family and cousins who travelled from the USA, England and Canada. To our wonderful friends, neighbours and family who worked tirelessly to support us over the course of the wake and funeral. To all who served tea and refreshments, to the businesses, family and friends who delivered and provided food; our family members who supplied and set up the marquees, heaters and chairs, to our family members who made numerous runs for supplies and trips to Killeavy club.
We would like to thank all Killeavy Gaels who took part in the guard of honour for Mattie at Meigh Chapel. For the wonderful Sacristans in Meigh Chapel. The lovely music and singing provided by Dearbhla, Joanna and Oisin.
To Killeavy club and their wonderful staff who set up the club and bar staff to provide space for a lovely send off for Mattie with much loved family and friends. To Boyd’s Catering for the lovely food.
We send our deepest thanks and gratitude to McGennity funeral directors for their guidance, compassion and professionalism throughout Dad’s wake and funeral mass.
It would be impossible to thank everyone individually. So many friends and family members did so much behind the scenes and your helpfulness and kindness will never be forgotten. So please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt gratitude.
Mattie’s month’s mind ass will be celebrated on Sunday the 22nd June at 10am in St Josephs Chapel, Meigh.
So sadly missed by all who loved him. May Mattie rest in peace.
