Acknowledgement from the family of the late Brendan (Bernard) Cunningham – R.I.P.
We, the family of the late Brendan (Bernard) Cunningham, who passed away on 23rd February 2025, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement.
We deeply appreciate all those who cared for daddy during his illness, including the HDU Nursing staff in Daisy Hill Hospital, the NI Ambulance Crew, the Community Respiratory Team, Acute Care at Home team, the Palliative Care team, Ann’s Homecare and Dr. Mc Verry’s GP Surgery team. Both Fáinche from the District Nursing Team and Alex from the Marie Curie Nursing team deserve special recognition for their kindness and support to daddy in his final days.
A special thanks to those who travelled a long distance to pay their respects, sent mass cards and generously donated food, refreshments, lighting equipment and their time to help out during the wake. We are especially grateful to both Killeavy GAC & Forkhill GAC for the use of their catering equipment and furniture, Mulkerns Eurospar and Joe’s Cafe for their food donation, Aidan Goodram for window cleaning services and Watters Electrical Contracts for providing additional lighting for wake visitors. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
A special mention to the Killeavy Men’s Shed for their special guard of honour for daddy and EJS Auto Mechanics for their traffic management during the funeral cortege. We are deeply grateful to Rev. Father Richard Naughton for his kindness and his delivery of such a beautiful and heartfelt funeral mass. Thanks also to Janice Gribben for the wonderful music provided and the Flagstaff Lodge for the lovely meal after the funeral.
Finally, we would like to express our deep gratitude to McGennitys Funeral Directors for the unwavering support and compassion shown to our family throughout this trying time and the utmost respect and dignity with which they took care of daddy until he was peacefully laid to rest.
Brendan’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 23rd March at 10am in the Sacred Heart Church , Cloughoge, Newry.
