Darragh OWENS
Darragh Owens
7 July 1981 – 26 December 2023 R.I.P.
The hardest good-byes are the ones you don’t see coming. The ones you don’t plan. Or could never imagine happening.
Fidelma Owens (Darragh’s Mother), and the entire family circle of the late Darragh wish to extend their sincere gratitude to all those who prayed, sympathised, and supported them in their recent bereavement.
The family wish to pay special thanks to: Close relatives, Darragh’s dear friends at home and in Scotland, neighbours and members of the wider community who travelled near and far to attend the wake and funeral and helped out in so many different ways.
First Responders Jason Kerr and Catriona McNamee, the PSNI, and close friends who attended the family home on the night of the bereavement. The courage, kindness, and support will never be forgotten.
Fr O’Dwyer for administering the last rites and providing spiritual comfort to the family on the night of Darragh’s passing, and for visiting the family home the following week.
Fr McCartan for his spiritual support, compassion and guidance throughout the wake and in the weeks to follow, and for celebrating the Requiem Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Beragh. The beautiful and personal Mass and homily was a fitting tribute to Darragh and a comfort to the family.
Fr Hannigan for facilitating the burial at St Patricks Cemetery, Aughnagar.
Fr Hasson, Fr McCrory, Fr Mc Anenly and Fr McCaughey for their spiritual and pastoral support.
The Readers, Singer and Musicians for the beautiful words and music at the Church and Graveside, and Kieran Conroy for beautifully preparing the grave.
The people who helped around the house, both inside and out, and those who provided buses and transported people to and from the wake.
To those who brought food to the wake, phoned, messaged, sent cards and who attended the funeral.
Jimmy Fox Funeral Director and his assistants for the attentive, dignified, and professional way in which they carried out the wake and funeral arrangements and for the support given from the outset of the wake through to the funeral and afterwards.
Staff of the Old Charm for providing the funeral dinner, and Denise Gormley for the photographic presentation.
Given that it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we thrust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deep and abiding appreciation. With the whole of my heart thanks is not enough, it is indeed a pleasure to labour for those we love. Your presence was the greatest gift of all. We are profoundly grateful.
The Memory Mass for Darragh will be celebrated on Friday 9 February at 7.30pm in St Patricks Church, Aughnagar. No Webcam available. Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, on his sweet loving caring soul have mercy. Amen
