Acknowledgement for the late Mr William John (Willie) Dickson.
Margaret Dickson, Sarah, Philip and the wider Family Circle of the late Mr William John Dickson (Willie) Magherafelt Road, Tobermore would like to express their appreciation to everyone who offered sympathy in their recent sad bereavement. Special thanks to those who stopped and offered William direct help on the evening of the incident, to the PSNI along with their canine team, Mountain Rescue Search dog handler, The Search and Rescue teams and helicopter pilots. We also wish to thank Desertmartin and Ballinascreen GAA club members who joined in the search and of course, to all the other volunteers who joined as soon as the news broke. We are also indebted for the practical help offered by Desertmartin Purple Heroes in the use of their hall as a base for the Search and Rescue Team and St Marys Hall for the use of their chairs. We very much appreciate all who called at the house, rang or sent cards or messages of condolence and to all those who called at the wakes at D. Watters Funeral Home, attended the funeral, we are extremely grateful. The Dickson Family would also like to individually thank the following people for their services rendered during the mourning- The ladies who helped serve tea at the house and at the funeral home, Victor Brownlow for playing the accordion, Emma Forde for singing, Rev John Mullan for his support throughout, Father Madden, Knocknagin Primary School for their guard of honour, the Board Of Governors and staff, Curran Church, Robin Boyce for his valued support and caretaking, Mrs Adrienne Brooks for her professionalism on the piano and Edith Blair for the refreshments after the funeral. Many thanks to all who gave donations in Williams’s memory towards Search & Rescue which will be greatly appreciated by the team who tirelessly gave their time and energy nonstop during the incident. The Dickson Family Circle would lastly like to thank D. Watters Funeral Services for their professionalism throughout. Helen, Kristy and the wider team make sad circumstances like this somewhat easier to bear with their professional conduct throughout. We also thank the grave diggers who prepared the grave.
It is nearly impossible to mention everyone individually, so we hope this serves as an acknowledgement of our thanks to everyone who supported us in any way during our recent sad loss.

DICKSON William John (Willie) – December 6th 2024 (tragically, as the result of an accident) Much loved Husband of Margaret, 54 Magherafelt Road, Tobermore, dearly loved Father of Philip, Sarah and the late James and dearest Brother of Irene and Margaret.
House strictly private. All welcome at D. Watters Funeral Home, Tobermore on Monday evening (9th December) from 7:15pm – 10:00pm and Tuesday evening (10th December) from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.
Funeral will take place from his home on Wednesday, December 11th at 1:00pm, to Curran Presbyterian Church for service at 2:00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Community Rescue Service (CRS), can be made online or payable to D. Watters (Donations A/c), 55 Main Street, Tobermore Magherafelt BT45 5PP.
