Denis (Ding) DOHERTY

Date of Death: Sunday 7th September 2025 Town: Derry
Date of Death: Sunday 7th September 2025

The family of the late Denis (Ding) Doherty would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for all the kindness, support and sympathy they received during their recent bereavement. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to everyone who called at the house, sent Mass Cards, sympathy cards, personal messages and floral tributes. It was a great source of comfort to see the number of family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues who travelled distances to help us through this very difficult time.
A special word of gratitude is extended to our neighbours in Marlborough Road and to our close friends, for all their help, kindness and support during the wake. We are truly grateful to our dear friends Danny and Brenda, Sinead, Martine, Lorraine and Siobhan for their steadfast support throughout Ding’s illness and during the wake. We also acknowledge with thanks, the spiritual support offered by Father Paul Farren, Father Shaun Doherty, Father John Forbes and the Chaplains of Altnagelvin Hospital who visited Ding during his illness. Thanks also to Stephen Orr for his constant support and kindness.
Thanks to Father Shaun Doherty who celebrated the lovely Requiem Mass; to Michelle Conaghan for the singing and to Robert Peoples and Gerard Bradley for the music.
We wish to thank the Medical Staff of Aberfoyle Medical Practice; Professor Stewart and the Medical Team and Staff of Ward 50, as well as Patricia and Gemma of the Palliative Care Team, Altnagelvin Hospital for the specialist care that Ding received.
Many thanks to the staff of Bassetts Plumbing Supplies, Derry and Strabane District Council, MetaCompliance and Vertiv UPS, whose help and support have been greatly appreciated.
A special thanks to everyone who made donations to Macmillan Cancer Support on Ding’s behalf. Thanks to Bradley and Mc Laughlin Funeral Directors for the dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
