Arthur DONAGHY

Date of Death: Monday 29th June 2026 Town: Cappagh

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
The family of the late Arthur Donaghy, formerly of Cappagh Road, Galbally, wish to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised with them on their recent bereavement. We are deeply grateful to our relatives, friends, neighbours and all who called to the wake, attended the funeral, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolence and floral tributes, and to everyone who supported us in any way during this difficult time.
A special word of thanks to all who helped with the wake and funeral arrangements, and to everyone who travelled near and far to be with us and pay their respects.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Fr. Slater for his spiritual support, the beautiful celebration of Arthur’s Requiem Mass and his comforting words. We also thank the readers, Eucharistic Ministers and everyone who assisted in any way with the liturgy. Sincere thanks to Jacqueline Loughran and Eamonn Donnelly for the beautiful music and singing during the Mass, and to the McDonald brothers for playing traditional Irish music alongside Arthur’s grandchildren at the graveside. We extend our sincere thanks to Ann McKenna for the beautiful floral arrangements, thoughtfully prepared with such care and kindness.

We are especially grateful to Paudge Quinn and his staff for their kindness, professionalism, dignity and guidance throughout the funeral arrangements. We also wish to thank the gravedigger, Ciarán Conroy, for preparing Arthur’s final resting place with such care and respect. Our thanks also to Quinn’s Corner for providing the beautiful meal after the funeral.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. McKay, everyone at Ardmore Medical Practice, and the doctors, nurses and staff of 1 West ENT Ward at Craigavon Area Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion and kindness shown to Arthur throughout his illness.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.
Arthur’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Galbally, on Friday, 31st July at 7.00pm.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul.
Our Lady of Knock, pray for him. St. Padre Pio, pray for him.
