Date of Death: Wednesday 22nd September 2021
Date of Death: Wednesday 22nd September 2021

We, the family of the late Donal McElduff would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation to everyone who sympathised and supported us during our recent bereavement.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who paid their respects in any way.  Our thanks to those who sent Mass cards, flowers, posted heartfelt messages on social media or called to the family home.  Sincere thanks also to all those who attended Donal’s wake, Requiem Mass, lined the funeral route or who watched the funeral online. A particular word of thanks to Donal’s friends from the traditional music circle.

We wish to thank sincerely the many family members, neighbours, and friends who worked tirelessly throughout the wake, to those who brought food and to the staff of Mace, Pomeroy.    We also thank Pomeroy Plunketts GFC for providing chairs, cups etc for use at the wake and to the Staff of the Rusty Keg, Pomeroy for the funeral dinner.

We thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Carrickmore Health Centre and all the staff of the Mandeville Unit and the Orthopaedic Ward in Craigavon Area Hospital for their care and compassion.  A special acknowledgement to the nurse who was with Donal when he peacefully passed away.  We will be forever indebted to you.  Thanks also to Damian and the Staff of McAleer Medical Hall for all their help with Donal’s care.

Sincere thanks to Fr Moore and Fr Mickey Martin for the comforting Funeral and Requiem Mass.  Thanks also to Fr O’Neill (Carrickmore), Fr Sean (Benburb) and Fr Barney (South Africa) for all of your prayers for Donal.  Thank you to the singers, Eleanor, Andrea, Philly and Sarah and to Rosie, Paul Mongan and Brid Harper for the beautiful music.

Heartfelt thanks to Kate McAleer, funeral director, for her dignified, caring and professional manner at such a difficult time.  Thanks also to the gravediggers for preparing Donal’s final resting place.

Since it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a heartfelt and sincere expression of our gratitude and appreciation.
Donal’s month’s mind mass will be celebrated on Thursday 21 September at 7:30pm in The Church of the Assumption Pomeroy and may also be viewed via the Pomeroy Parish Webcam.
