Date of Death: Friday 16th May 2025

Acknowledgement from the family of the Late Michael Joseph (Mickey) Doran – RIP.
The family of the late Michael Joseph (Mickey) Doran wish to convey their deepest gratitude to all who extended support and kindness in the days surrounding Mickey’s passing.
To those who offered messages of sympathy, sent cards, and attended the wake and funeral, your presence has been a profound source of comfort. We remain especially thankful to family and friends who supported us with such kindness and generosity.
Our sincere thanks to so many for the wonderful comfort we received from the stories shared, the enduring bonds with his longtime neighbours of Greenwood Drive and Shandon Park and the many musicians, colleagues and lifelong friends who knew him and loved him and whose friendship and respect Mickey held so dear.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation to McGennity Funeral Directors, whose warmth, dignity, and professionalism provided invaluable guidance and solace throughout. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Fr. Ruaidhri Grieve whose compassionate presence and thoughtful connection brought comfort and peace to our family, and who celebrated a beautiful Requiem Mass for Mickey’s life.
We are especially grateful to Emma and Gareth, whose music was beautifully heartfelt and personal. Thank you both so much.
We would also like to acknowledge and express our thanks to all the staff at Ardmaine Care Home for all the care, the laughter and the love. We are so very truly grateful.
And may we also extend our gratitude to all who generously donated to Cuan Mhuire Newry, in honour of Mickey’s memory. Thank you.
Although it is not possible to thank every person individually, please know that every kind word, every gesture of sympathy, every contribution and every memory shared meant so much to us. We hope this acknowledgement may be accepted as a sincere expression of our heartfelt thanks to all.
And finally, a special word of thanks to his nephew Keith Doran and brothers Danny and Brendan Doran, joined by Gareth Hughes, who performed a final Guitar Boogie Shuffle for Mickey, providing us all with the most truly appropriate way to say our last goodbye.
Go raibh míle maith agat.

Month’s Mind Mass for Mickey will be held at 7:30pm this Tuesday, 17th June in St Catherine’s Dominican Church, Newry.
With warm and grateful appreciation,
– The Doran Family.
