e, the family of the late George Dougherty wish to express our most sincere thanks to all who supported and sympathised with the family on our recent sad bereavement. We offer heartfelt thanks to family, friends and neighbours for all their support and words of comfort.
Thank you to all who sent Sympathy cards, Mass cards, flowers and donation in lieu of The Foyle Hospice.
A special thank you to all who cared for George over the years and in particular for the last six months from Abbey House, the Western Health and Social Care Trust, both community District Nursing and hospital teams, his GPs and Eglinton Medical Practice and Quayside Medical Practice and Longfield Care Home.
A very special thank you to Father Sean O’Donnell, Father Daniel McFaul and Father Patrick Lagan for the beautiful mass service.
Thank you to WJ O’Brien & Son Ltd for the dignified and caring way they supported the family and carried out the funeral arrangements.
We would like to thank Link 48 for the great service at a difficult time.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere thank you and appreciation.

DOUGHERTY George, 26th November 2024 peacefully at Longfield Care Home, formerly of Abbey House.

Beloved husband of the late Winnie, partner of the late Anne, loving father of Joe, Marie, Donna and the late Georgie and Winifred, father-in-law of Seamus, Martina and the late Gerry Magee, devoted grandfather of Keri, Louise, Lauren, Kealan, Claire, Matthew, Aimee, Kevin and Paul, a cherished great-grandfather and dear brother of David, Noel and the late Billy.

His remains will be reposing in his daughter’s home, 33 Cooleen Park, Culmore, from 5 pm on Wednesday. Funeral from there on Friday at 12.25 pm for 1 o’clock Requiem Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Muff. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10 pm to 11 am.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
