Joan ELKIN (née Sampson)

Date of Death: Monday 18th December 2023 Town: Stewartstown
Date of Death: Monday 18th December 2023

Husband Derek, Daughter Holly and the Family Circle of the late Joan Elkin wish to extend sincere thanks to all who sympathised with them during their recent, sad bereavement. Heartfelt thanks to those who sent cards and messages, telephoned, left food items, called to the house, attended the funeral and who kindly donated to the MS Society NI in Joan’s memory. The support has been so greatly appreciated during this extremely difficult time. A special thank-you to everyone who provided care and support to Joan throughout the duration of her illness in a compassionate and dignified manner, especially those carers in Stewartstown Team and Staff at Craigavon Area Hospital who looked after her in recent years – the level of care given and empathy shown was excellent and we are deeply grateful for that. Thanks also to Rev. Canon Matthew Hagan for visiting both at home and in hospital and for conducting the funeral service, your pastoral support has been of great comfort. Thanks too for the use of Ballyclog Parish Church Hall for facilitating the funeral tea and for the assistance of the caterer, Edith Blair and her team for providing and serving the funeral tea. A word of thanks to Lowe’s Butchers, Stewartstown for providing the sausage rolls at short notice. Thanks to the Organist at Ballyclog Church, the Church Caretaker Ed, Gravedigger John Spratt and to all others who assisted in any manner, not previously mentioned. The Family would like to say a special thank-you to Helen and all her Staff at D. Watters Funeral Services for their professionalism, compassion and support in carrying out the funeral arrangements in such a dignified manner. As it is difficult to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude at our time of loss. “Missed beyond measure”.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.
