Eleanor FOX

We the Family of the late Eleanor Fox (R.I.P) who passed away unexpectedly on 02 January 2025 would like to express our sincere thanks to all our family, friends, neighbours and the community who supported us during our very sad bereavement.
Eleanor’s parents Pat and Maureen, brothers Paddy and Adrian, sister Louise, brother-in-law Nicky, sister-in-law Mary Teresa, nephews Pauric and Malachy, niece Emma, all her Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family and friends are heartbroken by her untimely passing.
The high esteem in which Eleanor was held was reflected in the outpouring of support and messages the family received in the hours, days and weeks after her untimely passing. Many memories have been shared by her family, friends, neighbours, GAA club mates in An Charraig Mhór and in New York, and by all who knew her. All of which have been a testament of the full life Eleanor lived and the impact she made on everyone she met in her short but extraordinary life.
As a family we offer our sincere thanks to An Charraig Mhór Club for the moving tribute they paid to Eleanor. A guard of honour made up off Senior Ladies players, past and present, management and committee members, all of whom took her for one last lap of the grounds where she played and coached before heading home to be with our family. All the support given to us by the club during the wake helped us in so many ways to grieve as a family.
To the many groups to which Eleanor was so passionately involved with who lined the route from Eleanor’s home, accompanied her to the chapel and formed the guards of honour. Our sincere appreciation to all of you.
We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects by calling during the wake, brought food, for the many messages, phone calls, cards and flowers, we are truly touched by your compassion.
A special word of thanks to all those who attended to Eleanor. Her work colleagues at Evolution Healthcare, the paramedics, local first responders and the P.S.N.I for their care, professionalism, compassion and kindness shown at the time of Eleanor’s passing. To Chris McCabe and his family for their support and providing transport during the wake. To the many stewards who assisted with carparking and those who helped at the house with tea and refreshments. We very much appreciate all you have done for us as a family.
Thank you to all those who joined us at the Requiem Mass, both within the chapel and online, especially to those who travelled long distance to be with us. We are deeply grateful to Fr. Peter McAnenly P.P for his spiritual support and ongoing care, as well as his very comforting homily during the requiem Mass. We also convey our appreciation to the Sacristan and everyone who took part during the mass in any way. To the musicians Sinead Taggart and Damien Cullen for the beautiful music which truly enhanced the mass.
Special thanks to all the staff of the Old Charm Inn who provided refreshments after the funeral.
Our whole-hearted thanks to the grave diggers for preparing Eleanor’s final resting place, to Fox & McCallan Undertakers, to Peadar, Kelley and Ryan, for all your help, guidance and reassurance. For the timely manner to which Eleanor was returned home to us and for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped and supported us in any way.
The Holy Sacrifice of the mass shall be offered for your intentions.
Eleanor is sadly missed every day, may her gentle soul Rest in Peace.
