We, the family of the late Francie Conway, Mabuoy, Pomeroy, wish to express our heartfelt and sincere appreciation to everyone who offered their kindness, support and messages of sympathy to us during our recent bereavement. Your thoughtfulness and compassion have been a great comfort to us at this sad time, and we are truly grateful to everyone.

We wish to thank our family circle, friends and good neighbours of Mabuoy and Limehill, who provided great support before, during and after Daddy’s wake and funeral. A special word of thanks is extended to the Rafferty family: Gerard and Annie, Declan and Sharon, and Aidan and Bronwen Quinn, whose friendship, kindness and support have been a constant source of strength to our family. We are also deeply grateful to all our neighbours and friends on the lane and throughout the wider community for their help, generosity and support over the years and particularly during this difficult time. Your kindness, love and unwavering support have meant more to us than words can express. Thank you.

We are deeply grateful to all the medical personnel who cared for Daddy throughout his illness, including Dr Corry and the staff of Carrickmore Health Centre; Damian Gormley and the staff at McAleer Medical Hall; Ms Lisa Hendley (NHSCT); and the doctors and nurses at Loane House, Dungannon, Ramone One and the Emergency Department at Craigavon Area Hospital, who cared for Daddy with kindness and compassion in his final months.

We would like to express our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to all the carers from Cookstown Home Care Team and Ann’s Home Care who cared for Daddy with such kindness, patience and compassion. A very special mention must go to Mary Corrigan, Sinead Ferry and Kathleen McGuire, who went above and beyond in their care of Daddy. The love, warmth and dignity they showed meant so much to him and to all of us as a family. We will never forget the special bond they formed with Daddy, or the comfort and reassurance they gave us throughout his final years. We will be forever grateful to you for everything you did for our Daddy.

We are indebted to Fr. Brian Fitzpatrick for administering the Last Rites to Daddy; Deacon Eunan McCreesh for bedside prayers; Fr. McAnenly who visited Daddy in hospital; Fr. Heagney and Fr. McCartan for their prayers during Daddy’s illness and Cecilia Coney, who administered the Eucharist to Daddy in hospital.

We thank Fr Moore for celebrating the Requiem Mass so reverently and for his prayers and support in the days following. Thank you to all the participants in the Requiem Mass, including the Sacristan; Readers and Eucharistic Ministers; and Dervla Kelly, Plunkett McGartland, Pat Casey and Lára McAnallen, for their beautiful and uplifting music in the church. We thank Gerard Corrigan and his staff, and the staff of Cavanakeeran Community Hub for providing refreshments following the funeral.

We pay tribute to Kate McAleer, Funeral Director, for the dignified conduct of funeral arrangements, and to the gravediggers for preparing Daddy’s final resting place.

Finally, we thank everyone who visited the family home, kept vigil, attended the funeral, wrote letters or Mass/Sympathy cards or other tributes, telephoned, brought food, gifts or floral tributes. As we cannot thank each person individually, we trust that this acknowledgement is a token of our sincere appreciation.

Daddy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Pomeroy on Friday 28th August at 7.30pm.
