Sydney GILFILLAN

Date of Death: Thursday 12th December 2024 Town: Mountjoy
Date of Death: Thursday 12th December 2024

Acknowledgement Notice
We the family of the late Sydney Gilfillan wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised and supported us during the recent bereavement of our Dad.
To all who called at the house, the wake in Mountjoy hall and the funeral, it meant so much to see so many people who knew Sydney through his many circles.
Also, to those who sent messages, cards and flowers from afar, your words and actions at this time were a great comfort.
The generosity you have shown in the donations to Mountjoy Utd FC and Mountjoy Presbyterian Church. It is impossible for us to thank everyone individually and we apologise if we miss anyone but there is some we wish to acknowledge.
A special thanks to the Rev Jonathan Cowan for not only conducting the funeral service, but for the care you gave us and Dad throughout this time.
The congregation of Mountjoy Presbyterian Church who ensured that everything behind the scenes continued, from parking cars to setting the hall and church.
A special thanks to the choir, organist and pianist who prepared special pieces for dad’s funeral and to the Mountjoy PW who prepared and served the funeral refreshments.
To Keith and the staff of Gibson Primary School, we thank you for the kindness and organisation of the wake tea, guard of honour for Syndey at the church and looking out for the boys in school at this time.
For all the members of Mountjoy United FC, we thank you for everything you done. Helping with wake tea, the guard of honour at the church and the club on his last journey, you did Syd proud.
Thanks must go to Armstrong Funeral Directors for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out their duties.

For everyone we haven’t named, we thank you and hope this a token of our appreciation
