Owen (Owenie) GRIBBEN
The family of the late Owen (Owenie) Gribben, Burren (formerly Cabra) who died on Monday 8th September, wish to offer their sincere thanks and gratitude to the family, friends and neighbours who sympathised with them during their recent bereavement. A special thanks to family, friends and neighbours who worked tirelessly to help us during the wake and to Bumpers, Burren for their support. Thank you for all the prayers, mass cards, sympathy cards and messages of condolences that were sent and to those who brought food and donated money to MS Society in lieu of flowers.
Thank you to Francie McMahon who visited Owenie diligently and to Monsignor Hugh Connolly for the support to us as a family during the wake and for celebrating the Requiem Mass and to Sean Magill and all those who took part in the mass and made it so special.
Thank you to Dr Murdock, Dr McCreesh and the staff at Warrenpoint Health Centre, the District Nursing Team, carers and the staff from The Enhanced Care Unit, Daisy Hill Hospital who attended to Owenie’s medical needs.
Thank you to McAnulty Funeral Directors, Warrenpoint for the dignified and caring manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thank you to Burren GAA for the use of the social club and to Diamonds Restaurant for providing the food after the funeral. As it would be impossible to thank everyone, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Owenie’s Months Mind Mass will be held in St Mary’s Church, Burren at 7.30pm on Friday 10th October.

Beloved husband of Margaret, treasured father of Paul (Hannah), Eugene (Tara), John (Jo) and Gareth (Ryan), loving grandfather of Shauna, Emma, Eamon, Isabella, Lucy, Ollie, Sean and Max and cherished brother of Annie, Patricia and the late John, PJ and Peter. (9 Milltown Street, Burren and formerly of Cabra). May his soul rest in peace.
Owenie’s remains will repose at his home until removal on Thursday at 11.30am arriving at St Mary’s Church, Burren for 12noon Requiem Mass (churchmedia.tv) followed by interment in adjoining cemetery. Family only on morning of funeral please. Deeply regretted by his loving family, extended family circle and friends. Donations in lieu of flowers please to MS Society, c/o Donation Box at the family home or directly to mssociety.org.uk.
