Rosemary, Patricia, Anthony, Michael, Philip and all the family circle of the late William Frederick Sydney Hopkins desire to return their sincere thanks to the many kind friends and neighbours who sympathised with them in their recent sad bereavement.
Thanks are extended to the Dr Auld & Dr Tipping (Banbridge Group Surgery) and The Palliative Care Team (Daisy Hill Hospital Newry) for all their medical care and attention. A special mention to Mrs Melissa Irvine (Social Worker) for all her help and support. We also wish to express our thanks to Mr Raymond Reid who has been a true and confidante friend to Dad.
Grateful thanks to Neil & Emma Hopkins for always being so thoughtful and to Magherally Masonic Lodge 203 for all their compassion shown to Dad over the years.
Thanks are extended to Ann & Maurice Bell at William Bell & Co Funeral Directors for their professionalism in arranging Dad’s funeral and for their kindness to the family.
The family appreciate all those who attended the wake and funeral, made telephone calls, sent text messages, letters and cards of sympathy or helped in any other way. Trusting this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.

HOPKINS William Frederick Sydney – 9th June 2025 (peacefully) in Daisy Hill Hospital Newry, in his 102nd year. Dearly loved husband of the late Maureen, 141 Ballymoney Road Banbridge. Treasured father of Rosemary, Patricia, Anthony, Michael & Philip, much loved father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather.

House and funeral strictly private.

No flowers please. Friends and neighbours will be welcome to call at William Bell & Co Funeral Home 23 Kenlis Street Banbridge BT32 3LR on Tuesday from 5pm – 7pm when family will be in attendance.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Those we love don’t go away
