Margaret HUGHES, (nee Donaghy)

Date of Death: Saturday 28th February 2026 Town: Loughmacrory

We, the family of the late Margaret Hughes wish to extend our gratitude to everyone who expressed their sympathy and support to us during our recent bereavement. We would like to thank all those who paid their respects at both the funeral and family home, sent Mass and sympathy cards, online condolences, for all those who provided a guard of honour and stood along the roadside as we made the journey to the chapel and attended the funeral. We would like to thank family, friends, neighbours and businesses who brought food and helped in and outside the home. We would also like to thank everyone who travelled from near and far to be with us.

A word of thanks to everyone who visited mum and supported us in those final days. Your care, prayers and kindness meant so much to us all. We would like to take this opportunity to offer our heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff in Carrickmore health centre, and the district nurses for the care that mum received. Thanks also to Fiona and all the staff in Hartes’ chemist. A special thank you to Margaret Donaghy and all of mum’s carers who became her friends while they showed kindness and gentleness during her care. A special thanks to Fr Peter McAnenly for his support, comforting and personalised Requiem Mass, and for his spiritual guidance and support to family members at this time. Thank you to Eamonn and Jackie for the beautiful singing and music, the sacristan and all who took part in the liturgy. Thank you to the grave diggers, Clare who provided the beautiful flowers, to the club rooms for the use of their premises and The Charm Inn for the refreshments after the funeral.

Thank you to mum’s Godson and Funeral Director, John Donaghy, for the sensitive and dignified manner in whichmum’s final arrangements were carried out.

As it is not possible to thank everyone personally, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Mum’s Months Mind Mass will take place in St Mary’s Church, Loughmacrory on Thursday 26th March 2026 at 8pm.
