We the family of the late Dearbhail Irwin-McQuillan, beloved mother to Eva, Fergal and Darragh, who sadly died on 17th December 2023 would like to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to our extended families, friends, work colleagues and neighbours who sympathised and supported us on our recent bereavement, especially Dearbhail’s great friends. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts and prayers, sent mass/sympathy cards, and posted social media messages. We also thank those who joined us for the wake and attended the funeral, your presence meant a great deal to us, especially those who travelled long distances.
We thank Canon Francis Brown for celebrating Requiem Mass and burial together with Janice Gribben and Barbara Fitzpatrick for the music and Sacristan Peter McSherry, Eucharistic Ministers and Bereavement Team together with McGennity Funeral directors.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Dearbhail’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at 12 on Sunday 21st January in Newry Cathedral.
Dearbhail you are engraved in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace.

Dearbhail – R.I.P., much loved mother of Eva, Fergal and Darragh, predeceased by her parents Donal and Irene Mc Quillan.
Dearbhail’s remains will repose in McGennity’s Funeral Home, 18 Forkhill Road, Newry BT35 8LZ from Monday December 18, from 7pm until 9pm and Tuesday December 19, from 2pm until 4pm and from 6pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 20, at 11am in St. Brigid’s church, the Meadow, Newry, BT35 6EY. Interment afterwards in Monkshill cemetery.
The family home is strictly private at all times.
No flowers please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Hope 4 ME and Fibro NI.
Very deeply regretted by her beloved children, their father Des, her brothers Niall, Rory, Connor and Donnogh, her sister Eimer and the extended family circle. May she rest in peace.
