In loving memory of a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend who died on 27th March 2023. Always remembered and sadly missed by her husband John, daughter Sharon, son-in-law Liam and the entire family circle.

Ita’s First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 26th March 2024 in the Church of the Assumption, Pomeroy at 7.30pm.

The family of the late Ita Cavanagh wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them on their recent sudden bereavement of a loving Wife, Mother, Mother-In-Law, Sister, Sister-In-Law, Aunt, and dear Friend. Our heartfelt thanks to all who attended to Ita at the scene of the accident, Locals, Paramedics, Air Ambulance, PSNI, Emergency and Theatre Staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast.

Special thanks to the Medical Teams at ICU, Major Trauma Unit, and Ward 4c in the Royal Victoria Hospital for their dedicated care, support and compassion.

We sincerely thank all our Neighbours, Friends and extended Family who welcomed Ita’s remains to our family home. To all who helped at the house before during and after the wake your kindness and support has been overwhelming. To those who bought food and helped with parking we are most grateful.

Thanks to everyone who contacted us, left online tributes, sent sympathy cards, Mass cards and donated to Air Ambulance. Thanks to those who visited or attended the wake and especially those who travelled long distances to be with us. Thanks to John and Sean Rafferty for preparing Ita’s grave.

A special word of thanks to Conor for his continued support and care for Ita during her time in hospital.

We wish to express a special thank you to Fr David Moore for his continued friendship and loyal support of our family especially during this difficult time, for his compassion and guidance throughout the wake and funeral, and for the beautiful and personal Mass and homily which was a fitting tribute of Ita.

Special thanks to Andrea, Sarah Jane and Eamon for the beautiful and fitting music during the funeral Mass and to Kieran Begley for playing the accordion at the Graveside. Thanks also to the Readers, Gift Bearers and all who contributed to the Requiem Mass to celebrate Ita’s life.

Thanks to the Pomeroy over 55’s for their Guard of Honour.

Thanks also to the Rusty Keg, Pomeroy for the beautiful refreshments after the funeral service.

Finally, a special word of thanks to Kate Mc Aleer (Funeral Director) for taking such great care of Ita and our family. To Kate, Peter and Massie for carrying out the funeral arrangements with great dignity, professionalism and sensitivity.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as an expression of our sincere appreciation to all who helped us in any way. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Ita’s months mind mass will take place on Tuesday 25th April in Church of The Assumption Pomeroy at 7:30pm.

Cavanagh (Pomeroy) 27th March 2023, peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital surrounded by her loving family Ita (née Fox) beloved wife of John F, loving mother of Sharon (Harvey) and mother in law of Liam, dear sister of the late Rosaleen (Laverty) RIP, Jim, Breige (Hagan), Kathleen (Murphy), Marie (Mackle), Martin, Concepta (McAlinden), Betty (O’Carroll), Noreen (Rafferty) and Donal. Much loved daughter of the late John and Catherine Fox RIP.

Ita is reposing at home 65 Limehill Rd BT702RY until removal Friday for 11am Requiem mass in The Church of the Assumption, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Padre Pío intercede on her behalf.

Very deeply regretted by her loving husband, daughter, son-in-law, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, entire family circle, neighbours and friends.
