Wife Geraldine and family of the late Joe McGurk wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all that sympathised with us in our recent sad bereavement.

To all who sent mass / sympathy cards, letters of sympathy, telephoned, sent floral tributes or lined the funeral route, thank you.

A special word of thanks to Father Boyle who celebrated Requiem Mass and to Margaret Ann for the beautiful singing.  We would like to thank Dr. Murray and the staff at the Oaks Family Practice and also the Doctors and Nurses of Craigavon Area Hospital.

To Kate McAleer Funeral Undertakers for the compassionate and dignified manner in which she carried out the arrangements, especially in these difficult times.

Thanks also to the gravediggers.  As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as a token of our appreciation.

Due to ongoing restrictions as a result of the pandemic, mass will be strictly private and limited in numbers, if you would like to pay your respects you may do so by the roadside as the funeral cortège departs Joe's home and makes it's way to the chapel. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines.

McGurk (Cookstown) 26th December 2020, suddenly and unexpectedly, Joe, dearly beloved husband to Geraldine (nee McClements) and devoted father to Bernice (Mallon), Jacinta (Morgan), Siobhan, Adrian, Gemma and Michelle (McGrath) and father-in-law to Brian, Dave, Ciara and Barry.

Adored by his grandchildren Gerald, Christopher, Thomas, Rebecca, Ethan, Eabha, Bella, Paul, Shea, Caelum and his great-grandchildren Daílíth and Allie-Mae.

Much loved brother to Mary, Margaret, Eamon, Marie, Madeline, Rita, Sheila, Florence and the late Vera RIP.

Joe will repose at home 76 Pomeroy Rd. Tirnaskea BT80 9EX until removal Tuesday morning for 12 noon Requiem Mass at Holy Trinity Church, interment afterwards in Forthill Cemetery.

Very Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, daughters, son, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, entire family circle, neighbours and friends.

Book of Condolences

I have many memories of our brother Joe from racing home from school with Eamon, going to all the dances, to all the weddings and parties we attended. Joe was great company and a pleasure to be with. He was greatly affected by the loss of our Sister Vera and God willing they will be together in heaven. Memories of both will never fade. Our deepest condolences to Geraldine and the family.
