Family Acknowledgement & Month mind Mass arrangements.

The family of the late John Meenagh wish to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sympathised and supported us through our recent bereavement.

The kindness of family, friends and neighbours is very much appreciated. Thank you to all who called during or after the wake and funeral, your support and prayers brought us much comfort. Thanks also for the Mass cards, phone calls and kind words.

Thanks to everyone who brought food to the wake. Thanks to all who worked tirelessly in the kitchen providing refreshments and to all who provided lighting, the marquee and transport, who parked cars, drove buses, and kept everything running smoothly, your support will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Fr McAnenly P.P and Fr Brown for celebrating John’s Requim Mass and burial, and to Fr McAleer, for all their visits to John and the family before and after the wake and funeral. Also thanks to chaplin Fr McFaul who attended John in his final hours in Altnagelvin Hospital.

The Funeral Service was enhanced with the beautiful singing and music thanks to Christina McElroy and Rory Madden.

Gratitude to the sacristans, Eucharist Ministers and altar servers. We wish to thank Peadar Fox, Kelley Fox-McNally and Ryan McCallan from FMC Funeral Directors for support given to our family and the dignified and professional manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

Also thanks to the gravediggers for preparing John’s final resting place. Thanks to all the staff at The Charm Inn for the refreshments following the service.

Thanks to the doctors, nurses and reception staff at Carrickmore Health Centre, Harte’s Pharmacy, the district nurse and the numerous hospital staff who cared for John.As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgment will be taken and accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.

John’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 2nd October at 7.30pm in St Colmcille’s Church, Carrickmore.

MEENAGH, John – 1st September 2026. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Altnagelvin Hospital. Late of 156 Creggan Road, Carrickmore. Dearly beloved son of the late Peter and Josephine, dear brother of Tommy, the late Hugh, Dan and Vincent (Briege) and much loved uncle of Mairead (Connal), Daniel & Noelle.

John’s remains will be brought home at 6.30pm this evening (Wednesday) to his late residence at 156 Creggan Road, Carrickmore, with wake commencing at 7.30pm until 10.00pm.

The wake will continue tomorrow, Thursday, from 10.00am until 10.00pm. Parking each evening at Creggan Community Centre with shuttle bus to wake.

Funeral leaving at 9.45am on Friday 4th September 2026, for Requiem Mass at St Colmcille’s Church, Carrickmore at 10.15am. Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

John will be sadly missed by his brother, sister-in-law, nieces, nephew, grand nieces, friends and entire family circle

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul. Rest in Peace, Amen.
